I was hesitant to merge my world of fine art, where I have been an exhibiting painter my whole life, with the world of spiritual teaching that has been part of my life for quite a long time as well. 

Painting Jesus just seemed too daunting a task.

But on Good Friday, in 2022, I became inspired to take a painting that I had begun, just as a background, maybe a year earlier, and I immediately saw this image "on it," as if it already existed. 

The painting itself emerged effortlessly, as if I wasn't the one doing the work. In fact it is the only major work I've ever created that I've chosen not to sign. 

By Holy Saturday it was finished, and sat completed on the easel Easter Sunday morning. I have chosen to title the painting Christ Arisen,  given how and when it was created.

The Presence, love, wisdom, and strength of Christ has seen me through my toughest times, and given me strength and direction when I did not know it could occur.

For me, Christ is a real being, living with us and caring for us, guiding us forward. My hope is that this artwork brings a feeling of His Presence to you, as it has to me.
